Planning tips

What a good CCTV layout gets right.

  1. 01

    Cover every way in

Entrances, back doors and loading bays first. A face at the door is worth more than a wide view of the room.

  2. 02

Watch the money and the stock

Cash counters, server racks and storerooms each deserve a camera of their own.

  3. 03

    Mount high, aim across

Corners give the widest view. Avoid pointing cameras straight at windows or bright doorways.

  4. 04

    Keep enough days

Many problems are noticed days later. Fifteen to thirty days of recording is a sensible minimum for most offices.
